The Mintex range alone includes over 1,250 references in brake pads, over 300 brake shoes, more than 700 discs and 55 brake drums, as well as a complete range of brake system accessories and brake fluids. Developed and engineered to set new standards in aftermarket friction, Mintex brake pads provide the optimum balance of performance and extended service life.
As vehicle speeds continue to increase, the demands placed on the brakes become greater. Combined with the increasing market need for O.E. quality aftermarket friction products, TMD Friction continues to improve the specifi cation of Mintex friction.
European Regulation 90 - A Minimum Standard but not the Mintex Standard.
Just because a brake pad meets European Regulation 90, it does not mean it is good enough to bear the Mintex name. ECE R90 compliance is considered the minimum standard for Mintex friction. Each new Mintex brake pad is subjected to extensive testing during its development to ensure it performs not only to R90 standards but to Mintex standards. These stringent tests include testing under real life conditions and examine not only friction performance, but also noise, comfort and consistency across the temperature range.
Mintex friction is engineered at state-of-the-art facilities using the latest automated technology, including computer-controlled grinding and E.S.P.I. (Extra-Short in-line Pressing), to ensure consistently high standards of quality and finish. As part of its commitment to improvement and to meet the market need for O.E. quality and performance at aftermarket prices, Mintex brake pads are regularly evaluated at different periods in the vehicle life-cycle.
This process has recently resulted in a large-scale programme to bring Mintex brake pads closer to O.E. specifi cations by adding slots or chamfers, and a range of anti-vibration shims, to references where these features are already specified to the O.E. equivalent part.
